STATE RECORD BEAR
The State Record Bear was shot by Craig Tanner in 1986 in the town of Lemington. This bear was weighed in at 514 lbs. clean dressed. To read the story click here. The photos are posted below.

The drag out was a long one and a substantial amount of hair was rubbed off the shoulder area during the drag. On the left is Chip Sprague, the dog handler, and on the right is the hunter, Craig Tanner.

Mark Dufresne skinning the bear. Mark was a teenager in this photo and is now a renowned full time taxidermist and sculptor in the State of Maine.
