VERMONT BIG GAME TROPHY CLUB

The Vermont Big Game Trophy Club was founded in March 2008 by Brad Hanson and Curtis Smiley. We are registered with the Secretary of State's Office. The Vermont Big Game Trophy Club is a nonprofit organization committed to the conservation of Vermont's Big Game and the preservation of our hunting heritage.

Recognizing the lack of an accurate and current big game records keeping system in Vermont, the Vermont Big Game Trophy Club set up a records keeping club for all four species of Vermont’s native big game (deer, bear, moose and turkey). These records will be available to the public through an annual yearbook, as well as being published in Outdoors Magazine and posting on this website. Our goal is to publish the “Records of Vermont Big Game” annually. This book will feature stories, photographs, and the complete listing of trophies entered in each category.

The goal of the Vermont Big Game Trophy Club is to establish itself as the premiere big game records keeping organization for whitetail deer, black bear, turkey and moose harvested in the State of Vermont. This will be accomplished utilizing a network of volunteer measurers throughout Vermont to measure trophies and forward this information to the Vermont Big Game Trophy Club offices.

The Vermont Big Game Trophy Club strives to support and advance the time honored tradition of hunting in Vermont. This will be accomplished through partnerships with various conservation groups and by providing scholarships to Vermont youths who wish to attend the Green Mountain Conservation Camp administered by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department.

The Vermont Big Game Trophy Club will work to ensure that our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the bounty that Vermont's fields and forests have yielded to our sportsmen and women in the form of our native big game species.

To celebrate and document the top Big Game animals harvested in the State of Vermont under “fair chase” guidelines and to recognize the hunters who harvest these magnificent trophies.
